Year of the Snake

One of the many great things about being Chinese is that there is hardly any of this ‘January blues’ business that I’m sure many people are all too familiar with, because the manic Chinese New Year festivities are just around the corner!

This year, we celebrate the year of the Snake, and MAC has launched a new collection in its honour. Filled with striking colours and shimmering finishes, the collection looks absolutely irresistible...

Eye shadows come in four colours. Once Upon a Time is a metallic vanilla with a Veluxe Pearl finish. Aztec Brick is a frosted copper, also with a Veluxe Pearl finish. Altered State is a frosted deep purple and Carbon, which is a matte black. The two pigments are repromoted in this collection. Brash & Bold is a bright fuchsia, and Push the Edge is a deep bright purple. Another repromoted product is the Beauty Powder in Shell Pearl – a pale peach with a golden pearly finish that will help brighten up and illuminate your whole complexion.

Three lipsticks from the permanent line are also in this collection. Freckletone is neutral peach and Plumful is rosey-plum (both with a Lustre formula), along with Cockney, which is a sheer orange-based red with a pearly shine. Also from the permanent collection is a black Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved, and Zoom Lash in Zoomblack.

That’s it! Is it just me or does this collection sound like its to die for?! I can’t wait for CNY…. May those red packets never stop raining on me :’) Maybe I could use some festive money to buy some of this collection… As well as the beautiful colours, these will be packaged in a cute snakeskin embossed design, so this collection has definitely caught my eye, especially the Eye Shadows in Once Upon a Time and Aztec Brick...
